About the Brand
For nearly 15 years, I have dedicated my life to studying and teaching high performance. During this time, a few lessons have become abundantly clear to me.
1. Performance at the highest levels – regardless of industry – requires an endless passion and a relentless pursuit of excellence. There are no shortcuts, and to be great requires time, energy, and effort that many are not willing to sacrifice.
2. No one competes alone. The best get to where they are because of the people they surround themselves with – beginning with immediate and extended family, but also friends, coaches, leaders, mentors, and others. They achieve because of – not despite – their inner circle. Kin is a crucial but often neglected component of high performance.
Neither of these ideas are particularly groundbreaking. And yet, it is rare that they are valued with equal importance. Conventional wisdom and old school methods would have us buying stock into the relentless pursuit of our aspirations, even if it comes at the expense of those around us. But being “self-made” is a myth and grinding oneself into a state of isolated burnout are things of the past. Though achieving sustained excellence is certainly a challenge, it does not have to be lonely. If you are actively pursuing greatness in your own life, it would be wise to surround yourself with a quality group of people. People who are invested in you. People who believe in you. People who want what’s best for you, regardless of what’s in it for them. This perspective has become core to my own pursuit of excellence and the ideation behind the brand.
&kin exists to provide authentic performance psychology and executive coaching services to athletes, coaches, executives, and teams. Nothing transactional. Nothing corny or phony. Nothing too uptight or stiff. Just real, evidence-backed, science-supported techniques to help you on your road to success.
Being great at what you do is significantly influenced by who you surround yourself with. Make no mistake: though this may appear as a solo venture, there is a community of incredible people in my corner who help make this pursuit possible. If you are looking for someone to support and challenge you on your own path to success, you came to the right place.
From here on out, we are kin.
Welcome to the family.
